Without question, Ko Phangan has some of most beautiful beaches anywhere in the country. Koh Phangan used to be a backpackers destination, today a more mixed range of holiday makers visits the island. A thing most of tourists have in common, tourists want to find a nice and easy going place. One exemption can be the Full moon party when the beach transforms to a dancefloor. One exemption from the otherwise relaxed and quite island is the Fullmoon when the east side of Haad Rin transforms into a dance floor constructed of sand. If you don't fell like party or the kind of music they are playing, don't worry on Kohpangan are a lot nice places, that are all over the Island like viewpoints, National Parks and fruit garden in the hills. Even Pha-ngan was first discovered by backpacking hippies about twenty years ago, Phangan was already inhabited for more than 2000 years ago by sea gypsies driving with their boats from the area today called malaysia. The area was later settled by chinese refugees from Hainan fleeing their country.
